Working together to reduce casualties

Progress to date

Progress in reducing road casualties in Norfolk has been strong and is ahead of both regional and national progress. We have met all three national targets for 2010 two years early.

In Norfolk since the baseline period (1994-1998) we have achieved:-

  • 55% reduction in those killed or seriosly injured
  • 66% reduction in children killed or seriously injured
  • 27% reduction in those slightly injured

This graph of recent killed and seriously injured casualties in Norfolk shows a continued strong reduction in the annual figures.

This graph of recent child killed and seriously injured casualties shows a lower rate of reduction in the annual figures, following the steep decline of the late 90's and early 00's. The graph is also more erratic due to the small annual numbers involved.
